Gautam is the author of the novel Rafflesia The Banished Princess. The book was critically acclaimed for its theme and content. He is a management graduate who works in the financial services consulting industry. His job takes him to different parts of the world. He loves to read and is fond of pets. Writing has been a passion for him since childhood but he never seriously considered publishing a novel. He credits his parents for inspiring him to write a book. It took more than seven years to write his debut novel and another five to find a publisher. The book was finally published in March 2017.
